This versatile artist originally hails from the Northeast where she studied art at Lowell College and Boston School of Art.
As a professional Court Reporter, she headed for California and wound up in Vista, where she expanded her techniques studying with fine California artists. Doris became an art teacher and taught for many years.
She has been an avid participant in various State sponsored Wildlife, Waterfowl and Trout competitions. Paintings are created from her own photographs taken at wetland areas, various zoos and animal parks.
There are many of Doris' paintings in private collections throughout the United States, Europe, Scotland and Australia.
Memberships include Wildlife Art Association, Pacific Southwest Wildlife Arts Inc., Decoy and Wildlife Carvers Assoc, Ducks Unlimited and Quail Unlimited.
